There are two elect people of God. The nation of Israel under the law and the church under grace. Promises were made by God to both these groups but it is the church that is the true heir of the spititual promises. There is no replacement theology because the church is a seperate thing and not of physical Israel but spiritual Israel. God made a new covenant totally different from the old based on faith and not law. God plans in the future to bring physical Israel into the new covenant. The church is the Israel of God with people from all walks of life because it is not physical descent but spiritual adoption that counts with God. The faith of Abraham was expressed before the the law was given by Moses, the new covenant was revealed before the law was. The church is older than the physical nation of Israel and is the true intent of the Israel God is creating.
